We help clients by delivering assessment, transformation and process efficiency solutions in specialty areas like finance, supply chain, IT Advisory, customer, people and organization change, strategic direction, and program management.

Our healthcare advisory team focuses on providing advisory services in the following areas to address key Chief Financial Officer (CFO) issues: revenue cycle, reimbursement/regulatory, finance transformation, supply chain and managed care-provider/payor.

 

Responsibilities

As a member of Ernst & Youngs performance improvement healthcare-Managed Care team, the Senior Manager will lead multiple client engagement teams. Our Managed Care team has talented and dedicated individuals to assist in identifying managed care contracting opportunities and enhancing net revenue. Services include managed care operations, pricing contracting strategy, managed care payment analysis as well as contract negotiation assistance.

 

Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management. Collaborate to plan engagement objectives and a strategy that addresses risk and performance improvement. Manage expectations of service delivery. Stay informed of business/economic developments and their impact to the client.

 

Demonstrate high levels of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilates new knowledge. Keep up-to-date with current developments and trends in advisory services capabilities and healthcare industry knowledge.

 

Deliver quality services. Value and model excellent client service by establishing goals and implementation plans to achieve a high quality deliverables and within expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and confirm key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.

 

Develop people. Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/training. Foster an innovative and team-oriented work environment.

 

Commit to developing knowledge, continue to learn and share knowledge with clients and team members. Respect/protect client information.

 

Generate new business opportunities. Understand Ernst & Young and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to bring value to clients. Develop long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with other Ernst & Young team members across all practices to serve client needs.

 

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • a bachelors degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience; or a masters degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience
  • a degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, and/or Business; CPA, MBA, MHA and/or MPH is a plus
  • approximately 7 years of health care advisory experience as a senior manager (or above) in a consulting firm, or in a senior management role within industry
  • experience and responsibility for managed care contracting in a provider or payor setting which includes business terms, rate targeting and profitability
  • ability to read and interpret financial statements and contract terms, utilize complex financial models, and demonstrated ability to undertake successful contract negotiations
  • experience with managed care contracting systems is a plus
  • demonstrated record in driving revenue within existing healthcare clients and in developing new prospects at the "C" level
  • work collaboratively in a team environment (knows when to lead and when to follow)
  • experience managing staff on multiple projects and providing direction to team members
  • willingness to travel on short notice to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 80%
  • a valid U.S. drivers license
  • a valid passport required - willingness and ability to travel internationally
